As unique as it gets. Inhabiting only the most rugged, exposed rocky shorelines, gooseneck barnacles (Pollicipes polymerus) are as much an adventure to harvest as they are on a plate. Known and beloved as “percebes” in Portugal and Spain. Reminiscent of crab or lobster, with a pleasantly chewy, clam-like texture
